One thing that MASSIVE CHALICE has is that the player has the option to use Cadence parts to research new items, weapons, armor, or other bonuses. Do you choose to use the enemy’s weapons against them?
Because Cadence corpses are in short supply, you will need to prioritize what you research. Do you want special Caberjack armor, or a new Alchemist weapon? What about a global fertility boost? Many of the items that you research are situational or have some penalty associated with them.
The Bone Barb Bow is an example of a Cadence weapon. While the weapon has slightly less damage than the standard crossbow, it does feature a unique trait which warrants consideration: every arrow show from the Bone Barb Bow will pierce right through its target (or any being in the path to its target).
This makes using the Bone Barb Bow a little more about positioning than the standard crossbow. You have to pay attention to where you send your troops and in what order you send them, so you don’t accidentally get into a situation where you cannot fire without hurting a friendly hero. However, if you do so, you’ll be rewarded with the opportunity to hit multiple enemies each round. It adds a nice twist to the Hunter class in particular.
In any case, on with the show!
I hope you enjoy part 12 of my MASSIVE CHALICE playthrough: Use Their Own Weapons Against Them!
